Hunter Safety and Education
Hunter education and training acts as a safeguard against hunting and shooting incidents, elevates hunter behavior and compliance with hunting laws. Connecticut hunters and fishermen contribute to maintaining a sustainable balance in wildlife populations within their habitats, providing essential field data required by wildlife managers. One of the services that sportsmen fund is Connecticut’s Hunter Education Course offered throughout the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. A Connecticut Hunter Safety Course is required for all persons hunting for the first time, do not currently hold a hunting license, or do not have a hunting license issued from another state within the last two hunting years.
